Last Week of School!!
How excited am I that school is almost done, pretty darn excited!! I think I am even more excited to have the semester finish than I was to have it start haha and that is saying something. Things are going good in life. I just got called as a ward Missionary, and the best part is my neighbor is my companion! I think this will be one of the best things to help me prepare for my mission. This year I am making a lot of my Christmas gifts, and they are actually turning out pretty good if I do say so myself (hopefully everyone else enjoys them as well!)

*The smell of rain
*Friends that forgive you when you have done something really stupid
*My mother, she is the very example of courage and faith
*When someone calls to say hello
*Grandparents--they rock!
*My wonderful state of Utah
*Scriptures
*Lazy days
*Scrapbooking to my hearts content
and
*Laughing till I cry :)

My best friend Late Night
So I have a best friend and his name is Late Night. We get together quite often, every night if we can. We watch movies, chat with people on facebook, scrapbook, do laundry and read together. He never tells me to go to bed, or that it is too late to do anything, he is always there. Whats wrong you say with my best friend -well he has a flaw. He is not friends with Morning. Now my life requires me to be friends with Morning which works out just fine if I have not hung out with Late Night during the week, but lately Late Night has been a really good friend. The hatred between the two is so strong that I have started to not like Mornings either and it is getting pretty crazy trying to please the two, impossible at some times. Any suggestions on how to ditch a friend (one that you have had for a very long time) to become best friends with one you don't care for? Anything will help--thanks all :)

New post
It has been 3 weeks since my last post!! Wow, I guess it is time I write on this darn thing. For starters I am stressed out at the moment.....did I realize that midterms were coming, did I remember Halloween is in 2 weeks, have I forgotten that Christmas is right around the corner!@! Apparently!! I have been slacking on everything these past few weeks, I have not done my homework, my costume is still in my head waiting to be purchased and the snowfall just hit me on the head like a brick opening my eyes that i had better get it in gear. So here I go off to do some studying (I did get a 91% on my math test...so I am pretty proud about that), get my Halloween shopping done and start on my Christmas list (not what I want but what i am getting for everyone else). Oh, also on my mind is my visiting teaching needs to get done, I still have my room to clean, I really ( I mean really) want to scrapbook, and if someone on the lunch committee forgets to buy the pasta salad one more time I might just scream.

Moving, Colds and No More Reruns
So for the past week I have had this cold that has kept me from really doing anything. I missed school and work last week which sucks cuz now I am behind in homework, which is nothing new I suppose. I hate having colds in the summer time, I can handle them in the winter but not in the summer I dont know why. So I have officially moved in with my sister! It is pretty exciting living there it is kinda like living on my own...kinda ;) It is really great, she is an awesome sister and I am very grateful to her. Her one cat Saila sleeps with me every night, and I love it! We are getting along great, we usually do but have our moments, but I think we are both grown up alot since we last lived together. I love this time of year, not for just the cool nights and changing of leaves but also for the season premiers of all my favorite shows!! Oh and can I mention how much I love DVR it is one of the best inventions (that and indoor plumbing haha) Can't wait to watch Heros, The New Adventures of the Old Christine, Two and a Half Men, CSI, The Office and My name is Earl!! Heres to prime time :)

Weber State is great, great, great!
So I totally stole this from Melissa but here is a breakdown of my schedule for this semester:
Tuesday
9am-Old Testament with Brother Rappleye (Cynthia, Krystle and I) -I was a little nervous to take the Old Testament cuz it is not one of my favorites but I knew that with Bro. Rappleye it would be worth it and it so is. I have learned so much in just this week it is great!
10am-10:50 Tuesday Devotional. It is great to hear a different speaker every week, it is like an EFY session!
11:30am 12:45pm- English 2010 with Professor Ron Deeter- I had him last semester for english 1010 and really enjoyed the class so I thought why not take English from him again. We are reading Heart of Darkness, it is going to be a lot more writing than last semester so I hope I am up for it.
1pm-2:15Education 1010 Intro to Teaching with Professor Paul Pitts (Cynthia, Krystle and I)-this class is sooo much fun, we read children books at the start of every class-its amazing!
Break from 2:15 till 5:30 Travel to Davis Campus for math
5:30pm-7:20-Math 1010 with Professor Tanya Syrett (Cynthia and I)- Math is not my highlight of school so I am having a hard time but I am with Cynthia so all is well.
7:30-9pm- Teaching of the Living Prophets with Sister Shuppe (Cynthia and I). WOW! Is really all I can say about this class, I absolutely enjoy Sis. Shuppe :) She is amazing, she can be telling a funny story but bring in the Spirit so strong I am crying (and I am really crying) I am so grateful for this class.
Thursday
There are a few changes but not many. There is no devotional on Thursdays so instead us girls signed up for Lunch committee (well Cynthia kinda said me and Krystle were doing it) So from 11:15 to 12:30 we serve lunch to the students for $2, I have class so I am just helping before. Can you say FUN or what! The other difference is there is no night Institute class so my day ends at 7:20 instead of 9.
Well there you have it the school schedule of a 22 year old girl going to Weber State! :)

Happy Birthday Corianne and Goodbye to Dustin
It is with a bittersweet hoorah that we sing happy birthday to Cori as it is on the eve of Dustin leaving for Korea. Oh gosh I have not cried so much in these past 2 weeks that I can remember for a long time. My dear sweet sister is on an emotional rollercoaster and I pray that I can help her any way I can, especially in the next few days. I keep reminding myself that a year will fly by but right now all I see is the number 365, well at least she has all her family and friends surrounding her with love.

I am not the norm....
So everyone is NOT excited to go back to school this week but I can't seem to have it come any sooner--I wish I had started today! Ok so I am weird and enjoy school (for the most part) there is just something about walking around campus in the fall that makes me feel like and adult and that I am doing something with my life...I LOVE it!! I can't wait for a routine, I do so much better when I have a schedule to follow. Cynthia says she is going to tease me in a few weeks about how excited I have been for school to start when I am the one wanting to sluff class and go to a movie, well I can't help feeling spring fever in October ;) Another reason I can not wait for school to start cuz with it comes institute, this semester I have three institute class and I am on the lunch committee! It is going to be fantastic. Tuesdays are going to be my favorite day, I will have Old Testament with Brother Rappleye (my favorite) at 9am, Tuesday Devotional at 10am and Doctrines of the Gospel at 7pm--its going to be amazing to feel the spirit and go to class learning about the Gospel it makes me want to leave for my mission today!! I went to a fireside last night and the spirit was so strong, it was wonderful knowing that I am on the right path in my life. As you can see I am pretty happy to be going back to WSU, yes it does suck sometimes but overall I enjoy my time there, I strongly believe it is only as good as you make it. So here's to higher education and spiritual exhalation!

JACKIE IS ENGAGED!
Yes I know shocking right?! But everyone knew it was coming the way those two are always together :) even little Braxton and Olivia wanted Doug as an uncle! He asked her to marry him up in Park City this past weekend, I am so excited for the both of them! Of course I am a little sad cuz this means I am not the number one person in her life, but times change and we just have to change with them. Now we are wedding planning and trying to find a time between me going on my mission, doug leaving for Iraq and Cori and Dustin leaving for Italy! Crazy times are sure to come :) but I know it will be a blast! Love you bothe so much kiss kiss

Last Comic Standing
Ok so me and Jackie absolutely love Marcus!! We first heard him at Wiseguys about two years ago and have gone to see him countless times. This picture was taken on his last show at the comedy club before he went on to big and better things...like last comic standing! Well if anyone watched the show on NBC knows that he took second place....how cool is that! I was really happy with the person that won so it is all good that he was runner up.

Face Lift
So I was totally done with the boring look of my blog, so I decided to give it a face lift and an hour later I finally have a finished project! I still could not figure out how to change the color of my playlist box but oh well for now this will have to do! I also could not get Carli's blog to add to my friend list--another time and place cuz I am done starring at this screen ;)

Best Friends
Here is me and Thayne at Farr Better Ice Cream in Ogden on Friday the 13th in June. It was so much fun, we decided to pick each others ice cream flavors, I went with Tin Roof Sundae (a very safe choice I thought) for him and he chose Fire Spit for me! Haha it turned out to be cinnamon! It was actually pretty good :) After that we went for a walk at the park by the Dinosaur Park, it was a fantastic Friday the 13th! For those of you wondering we are just friends for now nothing serious.
Good Things Utah
It was so much fun to see Carli on Good Things Utah! She did really great, it comes so natually to her :) I have never been to a live tapping of a show it was interesting---the commericials go by so much faster watching them there than at home. I really liked it, it was a lot of fun, the Good things Utah girls are super nice, Reagan is my favorite and I was super excited to sit next to her :)
New Car
So I have made a car purchase, Yeah!! I bought a Saturn Ion, it is super cute :) I was so done looking, car shopping is not my favorite thing to do, so me and my mom went to Kapp Auto Sales where I had found my first car and there it was! It has everything I wanted: automatic windows and locks, a sun roof, 6 disc CD changer and suicide doors! But I did have some problems the first day, I bought it home and the horn doesn't work! How could I have missed that, I don't know, so me and Thayne drove back up to the dealership. They took out a horn from another Saturn and put it in my car, free and clear....oh no! On the way home I run over a horse shoe nail and my back tire is going flat very fast so back up to the dealership we go. There they tell me that Les Schwab will fix it for free, oh well they are closed and so is Big O Tires so finally we found a Firestone tire and they are very helpful and fix it after they had been closed for 10 minutes. The funny thing was when the mechanic said welcome to your first auto repair and I started to laugh and said well technically it is the second!

Life update
So as all of you know it has been awhile since I have posted anything (thanks Amanda and Hanah for bringing it to my attention!) So here is a little update on things. School is out and I passed all my classes much to my surprise ;) and I am quite enjoying the summer break. It is nice not to have to worry about homework, that has relived a lot of stress from work life and home life. I have registered for Fall semester and guess what is on the menu yep you guessed it MATH! I have that class with Cynthia so hopefully we can help each other, because it has been way too long since I have tried to do a math problem. I am also seriously dating my long time friend Thayne Wilson; and when I say long time I mean a long time, we have been friends for 7 years! Most of those years I have liked him. We are not official yet, haha that sounds like freakin high school, but I have a feeling we will be soon! I am on the look out for a new car, since last week I wrecked mine and am trying to get healthier since I am pre-diabetic. So there is the latest news in the life of Alissa. I hope this satisfies every ones curiosity :)
Just My Luck
So first off everyone is ok (well the car isn't), no need to panic about injuries. It always seems to go that once you finally pay off your car you total it! I had just paid it off the first part of May, I hadn't even gone a month with out a car payment when I rear end a minivan on the freeway---Just my luck right. So now I am back to the good old car shopping days which is not one my favorite things to do. But this time around I am going to get a car that has automatic windows and locks and cruise control---oh and will still be automatic because shifting is not a skill I own!

No TV Week!!
Hey just wanted to let you all know that it is National TV Turnoff Week, YEAH! The dates are April 21-27, so everyone try to participate by not watching television (which I know is hard) and do something else; get together with friends or family, finish a project you have been working on for months, take a walk, spring clean the house, update your blog!! The possibilities are endless!
The Whole Lot!

April already
Well school is just about done for this semester! I am so excited only 6 more class times and I am free for the summer, and it is a well deserved break in my mind. April is already into its second week and I am feeling spring fever! We have had a few snow storms but overall the weather outside is getting less frightful which makes me so delightful :) Over the weekend I went to Wendover for my brother-in-laws birthday. I realized that I am not a gambler, I would rather keep the money in my pocket then try to double it, haha yeah I should have remembered that I am not a risk taker :) But I only lost $9 dollars (which is all I bet). Although I do have to pay a speeding ticket, yeah that's right, I got pulled over in Wendover, Utah- not even in Nevada yet- about one block from the parking lot we were meeting at, in my grandmothers car! I had set the cruise control the whole way-literally the whole way- then we had to break to get off the exit and it took it off the cruise control. So around the corner I went into the city on the main street going 45 mph and this cop (going the opposite direction flips a u-turn) pulls me over. I was so mad at myself I knew I should have slowed down, but I didn't the speed limit sign, oh wait is that it sitting right in front of the pulled over car, aw yep and it reads 35 mph--what do you know my luck, not winning big tonight! But overall it was a good time, me and jackie sat and talked and rode the free trolly ride up and down the boulevard.

NYC and ME
Here we are in the Big Apple!! It was so much fun, it is sad that the trip is over. We saw and did so much and I wouldn't have gone if it wasn't for these girls, they are the BEST! From left to right is me, Aubrey, Cynthia and Stacey. We all got along so good, which was something I was worried about. Everyone keeps asking what my favorite part was, and I think I would have to say all the Broadway plays then Time Square (but it was all so amazing) Shopping ladies was so great, the cutest purses on canal street and chinatown, it was a shopaholic's paradise :)

New York :)
Start spreading the news, I'm leaving today.....well ok on tuesday but I am ready to leave TODAY! This trip has been planned forever and now it is finally here and I can not wait :) I have to admit that I am a little nervous, New York is a BIG town and this is the first trip in a really long time that Jackie wont be with me, which is a really strange feeling. But I am ready for this adventure and know that it will be a good time; Everyone I am going with is really great so that helps a ton! Wish me luck in the Big Apple ;)

Feburary 2008
Wow I can't believe this month is almost over, it has gone by fast. But I am happy to see this month end for two reasons the first is because I get to wath T.V on saturday!! At the start of the new year I wrote down some resolutions that I really wanted to do this year, one of them was to not watch T.V. for a whole month--oh boy has it been hard (at least I chose the shortest month out of the year to do it!) Everyone at work can tell you how hard it was for me at the first of the month, I was going through withdrawls. I also cut out movies, and I am a big movie person so it will be nice to see one again. I think it was good to cut it out completely at first and now I can ease my way back into T.V. and start over trying to watch it less.
The second reason I am happy to be in march is for my wonderful New York City trip coming up!! Me and some of my friends have been planning this trip since october and now it is finally around the corner. I am so exciting to visit the city that never sleeps!! Spring break in NYC what could be better :) Broadway here we come!!
