Cooking at work

Well I was invited over to Rogers house for dinner and did not want to show up empty handed, as any guest knows you don't. So I decided I wanted to make dessert. One little problem...I am working. Well no fear I can make something, I mean come on I work in a grocery store right! OK what to make....I have no stove, oven, blender, freezer....um the options are getting pretty low. Well Danielle who has her cook book with her (have no idea why) pulls out a recipe for Oreo truffles. All you need is a package of Oreo's, cream cheese, and almond bark. Pretty simple. You crush the Oreo's combine them with the cream cheese, roll into balls and dip in the almond bark and refrigerate.

It took about three hours from start to finish, which is due to the fact that I had to stop and come back when we were slow. So I think if you were to do this at home it would be a lot faster! They turned out great!! I have never had them and I was a little nervous they were not going to taste good, but they were amazing! Thanks everyone at work for helping out!

Dinner was great, he didn't have time to cook because he got off work late so we just ordered pizza and watched a movie. It was a fun night, I really liked the part where he held my hand...that was pretty good :)

A Very Merry Unbirthday to Cynthia!

Here we are sitting at El Matador and our waitress Nitra, (who I guess is my cousin...no idea how we are related) comes over and says (in a very heavy Armenian accent) "Are we celebrating a birthday tonight?" She looks around the table stopping on Cynthia, smiling. "Its your birthday" she says pointing at her. "No" replies Cynthia, "its not my birthday". Nitra doesn't take no for an answer and says "Come we will sing to you." All of us are laughing as she takes Cynthia into the other room places a sombrero on her head.

Nitra-Hey everyone it is Cyndia's birthday today..how old are you sweetie?

Cynthia-22

Nitra-Cyndia is turning 21!

CHEERS from the crowd at this point

Nitra-So lets sing to her

As the chorus of Happy birthday rings throughout the restaurant I am dying of laughter, especially the part in the song when it gets to the persons name and since no one can understand a word Nitra said, everyone mumbles past that part to finish off with a big bang of applause and a scream from me!

A very merry unbirthday my friend....and sorry about not getting you a gift I will have to be more on top of that next time! :) oh p.s. my sister just said how I am related to Nitra...she is my dad's sisters husbands niece.....yeah so I just say cousin.

I am sitting here trying to pay for school and it is not working, staring at my book bag that is sitting in my closet with the tags still attached. And I am getting this feeling that this semester is going to be a challenge. I am though I have to say super excited for lunch committee, speaking of I have a meeting for in the morning at 6:30! whew I need to get to bed if I am to make that ;) hope everyone has a great first week of school...wish me luck!

Name Tags

Why do we have to wear name tags at work? I mean can't I just be your cashier, teller, waitress, or receptionist with out you knowing my name? Doesn't knowing my name make this transaction more personal over business? So now you the customer are upset when I take you yelling at me personal, but didn't you just make this personal by using my name repeatedly in the conversation, that may I add was increasing in decibels. I would appreciate you treating me like a person since by my name tag you can clearly see that I am.

And July turned to August

Ok its here....the month of August. The month I have been waiting for for a year now. Well the wedding came and it was a blast. We danced and laughed the whole night! Jackie looked so pretty, I wanted to cry when she was walking down the aisle. And Doug couldn't stop smiling, it was so perfect. Now here I sit on top of a world of questions some with answers some not so much. First off to all of you wondering no I am not going on a misson. What felt so right last year feels very confusing. It is hard to explain. And to answer your next question no I do not have a boyfriend. Haha it seems like that is what is assumed when I say I am not going on a mission anymore. I am going to school in the fall, just two classes is all. My dear friend Cynthia registered me back in April...maybe she knew something :) Speaking of Cynthia her missionary comes home in a week!!! She is super excited and nervous. Which describes my feelings as well. I had a dream last night that she got married and I was all alone, it was one of the saddest dreams I have had. But I know we will always be friends even when she is married. And speaking of marriage Krystle is getting married next week, so that is added to the crazy month. My month of maddness actually started at the end of July. With a new job, my birthday, a funeral for my dear Grandpa, and Jackies wedding..it was pretty stressful. So now all I have left is some fun stuff. Broadway in the Desert, a trip to Boise Idaho and a family reunion, the second half of the month should be a lot more fun!

Funny Bones

A couple weekends ago I played one of the funniest games, it is called "Funny Bones." Cynthia and I had a couple of people come over to her house to play some games and Jeffery brought this. I have never laughed so hard. :)

So here is a little background. For this game you split up into partners one boy and one girl and draw a card off the ground and do what it says. On the card it tells you something like Head bone connected to the Shoulder bone with a number on it stating how many points its worth. So one of the partners puts their head on the other's shoulder with the card in between. The object of the game is to be the last couple standing with the most points. If you drop a card you are out, or if you can't do what it says you are out. There are also Funny Bone cards which act like wilds and can be placed anywhere you don't already have a card.

Alright so here we all are getting ready to split up into teams. There is me, Cynthia, Jeffery, Phillip, Vanessa, Michael, Eric and his brother Adam. So I kinda like Jeffery and Phillip so I am thinking I have a good shot at being with someone I like. Eric says he has to leave but Adam wants to stay and play a few rounds. The moment comes and Vanessa grabs Phillip, Michael and Cynthia get paired up and Jeff is going to show us how to play so who does that leave me with.....ADAM! A kid I just met, haha only my luck.

Everyone is getting easy cards, like head bone to shoulder bone, hand bone to shin bone, knee bone to knee bone. OH NO not Adam and I we get the most random cards. Hip bone to hip bone and nose to nose bone. And there is Cynthia's mom just taking pictures like mad cuz we are so entwined with each other it looks like we are making out! We played a second time and we were going to switch partners but Adam thought we worked well together. Haha needless to say we got pretty close pretty fast!

Need Birthday Game Ideas

So as all of you know I just LOVE my birthday! And I love birthday parties. So every year I try to have an extremely fun birthday party. Last year was a costume party, and it was a blast! Everyone showed up in costume and danced the night away...oh it was my favorite! Well this year I have been thinking about what I wanted to do and me and the girls at work came up with a Carnival theme party. I am super excited!!

So I have been brainstorming about what to have at this carnival and have a few ideas. What I am really lacking is stuff for the adults to do (yes I invite EVERYONE to my birthday parties). So far I have a bean bag toss, dart board, fishing pond, face painting, guess the jelly bean jar, and tin can ally. All of these seem to be more for the kids than the adults, so I am asking you bloggers for help in coming up with games for the adults to play. Also I don't want people to have to sit at a booth all night and not enjoy the festivities any ideas on how to set up the carnival? Thanks anything will help me out!!
